PHOENIX (AZFamily/AP) — Arizona leaders and politicians are speaking out against the political violence that took place in Minnesota on Saturday. Democratic former House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark, were killed in their Brooklyn Park home. Sen. John Hoffman, also a Democrat, and his wife, Yvette, were injured at their Champlin address, about 9 miles away.

Andrew Lyman. Over 200 miles of trails snake through the city’s desert parks and mountains.

A package of new rules and minimum standards for memory care facilities across Arizona is up for a big vote on Tuesday. When HB 2764 was signed into law last year, these rules and standards were required to be set. “It was a shattering moment,” recalled Diane Hyink. It was the summer of 2022 when Hyink found out her father, Chris Wunderlich III, had Alzheimer’s.
