The Met Gala 2025 dress code is "Tailored to you", nodding to the Costume Institute's theme for the year of “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style”. It is the first Met Gala theme in over 20 years to focus on menswear and it was inspired by guest curator Monica L. Miller’s 2009 book, Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity. The stars in attendance, from Colman Domingo to Lewis Hamilton (both of whom were co-chairs), played with the dress code in their own way.

Kicking off a summertime full of events is Royal Ascot, the most prestigious of all affairs on the racing calendar. Dating back to 1711, where it was founded by Queen Anne, it takes place over five days at the prestigious Ascot Racecourse, situated around six miles from Windsor Castle. Given its close proximity to Royalty, the annual event has become synonymous with them. The late Queen Elizabeth II herself would attend every year and other members of the Royal Family are regular attendees.

In 2025 the business of men’s grooming is predicted to teeter close to a whopping £50bn in value. Considering in 2010 it was worth around £484m, it’s all too clear that guys have become more concerned about the way that they look, what they’re putting on their skin, under their armpits and across their hair (yes, even down there!). Perhaps it’s all down to the culture’s obsession with looking younger (it’s OK to have some frown lines, you know).
