The Nickerson Family Association and volunteers are rebuilding a historic barn in Chatham, using 18th- and 19th-century carpentry methods. The barn, believed to be the oldest in Chatham, was donated to the association in 2021 and is being reconstructed on their Orleans Road campus. A proposal calls for razing the Harwich Port Sundae School ice cream shop to build a 28-unit condominium building. Residents expressed concerns about the proposed building's size and design at a Planning Board meeting. Developers argue the project promotes walkable living and will generate less traffic than the ice cream shop. On Tuesday night, Planning Board members heard more about the proposal, including information about a traffic assessment and the proposed septic system.

A 29-year-old Mashpee resident was allegedly driving drunk before crashing into a telephone pole off Route 130 and Sunset Strip around 11 p.m. on Saturday, according to police. "Although we had conflicting reports originally by the operator of the vehicle it was determined to be a single motor vehicle crash with only 1 occupant," wrote Lt. Ryan Nardone in an email. The car was traveling on Route 130 when it struck a telephone pole and then several trees in the woods, said Nardone.

When his friends were trapped in Gaza, Boston real-estate lawyer @sammynabulsi became “the biggest pain in the ass of every politician” until the family made it back home. He's now become a beacon for American families seeking to get relatives out of Gaza. https://t.co/Tl1EDvwgKT
