    1 BACKGROUND As the prevalence of autoimmune diseases continues to rise, the role of gut microbiota in these diseases has become a major area of research. Recent advances have shown associations between gut microbiota and the onset or exacerbation of autoimmune diseases, suggesting potential causal relationships. Moreover, microbial dysbiosis is a common phenomenon observed in human autoimmune diseases and mouse models of autoimmune diseases.
