1 Introduction Lumbar disc herniation (LDH) is a condition characterized by the degeneration of intervertebral discs, leading to partial or complete rupture of the annulus fibrosus and the subsequent protrusion of the nucleus pulposus [1]. This protrusion can irritate or compress the nerve roots and the cauda equina, resulting in a syndrome that is one of the most common causes of lower back and leg pain. LDH is also a prevalent degenerative disease of the spine observed in clinical practice.
