1 INTRODUCTION Over the past two centuries, thousands of insect species have been transported worldwide (mostly unintentionally) and have colonized outside their native ranges (Liebhold et al., 2018). Invasive insects have significantly negatively affected agricultural productivity (Ziska et al., 2011), forest resources (Boyd et al., 2013), and human health (Juliano & Philip Lounibos, 2005), incurring considerable costs.
