3. Summary and OutlookAs discussed in previous sections, MXenes have exhibited preliminary potentials in all three required fields for a desirable photothermal catalyst: light absorption and photothermal conversion, heat management, and surface reactivity. For the light absorption and photothermal conversion process, MXene materials with narrow band gaps exhibited excellent LSPR properties, which accounted for enhanced light absorption capability and light–to–heat conversion properties.
