1. IntroductionReactive nitrogen species (RNS) are highly reactive molecules produced as metabolic byproducts in biological systems and function as important cellular signaling molecules. ONOO−, a type of RNS, is primarily produced in cells through the reaction of nitric oxide (NO) and the superoxide anion (O2.−) [1]. ONOO− plays a critical role in regulating redox homeostasis, signal activation, transduction, and the normal immune response [2].
