Williams believes Gen Z has a transactional dating culture because people rather have endless options and open-ended relationships than committing to one person. “That’s why we have ‘just talking’.     “Roundabout” is the latest exhibit featured in Samford’s Art Gallery and consists of a small collection of various works created by Samford alumni.  Lauren Evans, Samford art professor and director of the gallery, curated “Roundabout” after coming up with the idea for the collection a couple of years ago during a zoom call with Kaitlin West, Nicole Weldy and Molly Lay. As they shared their experiences in graduate school with Evans’ senior class, Evans came up with the idea.

    On Oct. 25-26, IJM college chapters across the country hosted their annual “Threads” event, which consists of a pup-up thrift store to raise money for their cause. Threads accepts clothing donations from college students, then uses these donations to host their thrift shop. After the fundraising event, each chapter sends the proceeds directly to IJM, which are used for rescuing and providing counseling for trafficking victims. The Samford chapter held their pop-up thrift shop on Ben Brown.

    On Oct. 18, students attended a Leadership Luncheon hosted by Samford Advancement Officer John Roland.  Throughout the luncheon, Roland gave students tips on how to navigate the workforce. As a Samford alumnus, Roland hoped that students might benefit from listening to his story as a former undergraduate.
