    BOISE, Idaho — Many Idahoans refer to summertime as 'orange cone season.' Many roadwork projects kick off in the warmer months, including roadwork on State Highway 55 between Boise and New Meadows.     BOISE, Idaho — "This is an exciting day for Zoo Boise," said Boise Mayor Lauren McLean, while at the ribbon cutting for a new red panda exhibit. Zoo Boise opened their new, world-class exhibit on Wednesday. The exhibit, called Virginia R. Bartak Red Panda Passage, is unlike any other red panda habitat, said Boise Parks and Recreation in a news release. This new habitat provides opportunities for the community to learn and interact with the animals in many ways.

    BOISE, Idaho — KTVB News has won two 2025 Regional Edward R. Murrow Awards for coverage on two topics. The prestigious competition recognizes outstanding broadcast and digital news journalism among fourteen geographical regions. KTVB competed in the northwestern U.S. region, which includes the five states of Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Alaska. The series "Violent Extremism: Hate in Idaho" was done by journalist Justin Corr and photographer Troy Colson.

    BOISE, Idaho — The Boise Fire Department (BFD) has been working hard to get the Boise River to par for the summer floating season. During this time of year, the department practices rescues and remove obstacles within the river that may cause damage. During Boise Fire's scheduled training exercise this weekend, its water rescue boat flipped. No injuries were reported, and all fire personnel are accounted for. The incident on Sunday, May 11 is now under investigation.
