BOISE, Idaho — A Burley man was sentenced to 25 years in prison for distributing child porn, Idaho Attorney General Raúl Labrador announced Wednesday. 28-year-old Tyrell Howell, was convicted of two felony counts of sexual exploitation of a child by distributing sexually exploitative material, also known as child porn. Cassia County District Judge Blaine Cannon sentenced Howell on May 19 to 25 years in prison and will be eligible for parole after five years.

BOISE, Idaho — The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality (IDEQ) has found E. coli at Robie Creek Park in Idaho. The beach, an offshoot of Lucky Peak Lake, had E. coli in "exceedance of Idaho standards" at the park on May 21. Officials received those water testing results on May 27, and proceeded to put up signage in the area immediately.

HORSESHOE BEND, Idaho — Have you seen Thomas? Horseshoe Bend authorities are currently seeking the whereabouts of Thomas, a 7-year-old boy who is non-verbal and autistic. His full name is Thomas Armstrong, which he will respond to. He does not like loud noises, however. The Boise County Sheriff's Office described the boy as having dirty blond hair. He was last seen without shoes, but wearing shorts. He was last seen around 11:45 a.m. in the front yard of 122 Helm Drive in Horseshoe Bend.
Canyon County man found guilty after shooting wife in head

CALDWELL, Idaho — A Canyon County Jury has found a man guilty of first-degree murder of his wife. According to court records, Francisco Torres-Rodriguez staged the murder of his wife, Reyna Quintero, making it look like a suicide. The crime occurred on Sept. 3, 2023. Torres-Rodriguez is scheduled to face sentencing on Aug. 8 at 9 a.m. Court documents indicate Quintero was getting ready to go out for the night, after deciding to end the marriage to Torres-Rodriguez.

CALDWELL, Idaho — A unanimous vote of approval from the Caldwell City Council confirmed the appointment of Bryan Daniels as the new Chief of the Caldwell Fire Department. According to a news release from Caldwell Fire, Chief Daniels was selected after a formal interview on Monday, May 19. He also previously served as the department's Deputy Chief of Administration.

The city of Caldwell took to Facebook to state they had to close City Hall and their Fire Administration building due to the outage. According to the Idaho Power website, the outage has affected several zip codes: 83605, 83607, 83626, 83660, and 83676. Roughly 2,200 Idaho Power customers have been impacted.
