Alexander City Outlook

In 1884, Adolphus Longshore, a teacher and lawyer, recognized the importance of showcasing his hometown and established the first newspaper in Alexander City, called The Beacon. The newspaper underwent several ownership changes before being acquired in 1892 by Capt. J.D. Dickson, who renamed it The Outlook. Eventually, it was sold to Mr. Fitz O. Hooton, who took on the roles of owner, editor, and publisher for over two decades.
