The Elmore County Food Pantry is still operational despite the arrest last week of former board president Jeff Andrews and director Kathy Hall. “We are still serving our clients at the food pantry and the thrift store is open,” current board president Larry Dozier said. “There are some new faces around but it is business as usual.”Dozier left the board of the food pantry in February 2023, but came back last week following Andrews’ and Hall’s arrest. “The board asked me to come back,” Dozier said.

But it took a team of physicians to convince Dr. Jim Carlile he should go into pediatrics. “I wanted to do gastroenterology because I was fascinated with endoscopy procedures where you look down into someone’s stomach and things like that,” Carlile said. “One of the professors of pediatrics called me in and said the pediatric department here feels that you have a gift in pediatrics. Mom Prom came to Eclectic once again. This time it was a glow party complete with neon lights and razzle dazzle. “It’s just a night out for moms and their children,” organizer Carissa George said. “They get to dress up and get to enjoy themselves.”Dozens of moms walked into the Eclectic Warehouse Friday escorted by their children. Many dressed up and ate out, but all had smiles on their faces for an accessory. A committee came together two years ago to organize the Mom Prom.
