Alton Herald

Alton Herald

The FARNHAM HERALD newspaper series was founded by E.W. Langham, who opened a small printing office on South Street in Farnham in 1892. Due to its growing popularity and surge in sales, Langham expanded by launching the Haslemere Herald from an office on West Street in 1896. The success of both newspapers led him to merge them on September 11, 1897, unveiling the "tudor" masthead that remains in use today. One of its catchphrases became "The paper for small advertisements." Over the years, more titles and new regions, including Alton, were incorporated, leading to an increase in advertising and circulation.

Mr Ferguson ran the 13.1mile course on April 6 in 2 hours 22 minutes for the “amazing” support the charity’s nurses gave to his late father-in-law from Liss and his family.

Gravel and what appears to be a septic tank were then added on land near Blind Lane in Lurgashall, Petworth.
