Amina Kellie and Marion Goodes, head of procurement and chief process officer at PelGar International, visited the Holybourne school on June 17 to present the cheque. Eggar’s headteacher Sarah Holman was surprised by the news, saying she was “blown away” when she read the company’s announcement. Its donation will be directed towards essential areas of the school’s improvement and development plan, helping to make the future better for pupils through targeted enhancements.

The University for the Creative Arts in Farnham is hosting a free animation exhibition from July 14 to 25. At least 20 different artworks, many never previously exhibited, will be on display in the James Hockey Gallery along with several new collaborations in expanded animation. A feast of audio-visual stimulation awaits at the launch event on July 17.

The concert featured an ambitious programme of music for choir accompanied by different combinations of piano, cello and clarinet. Clear highlight was the premiere of Owain Park’s Five Nocturnes, a commission funded by a bequest from local resident and choir member Josephine Reader who died in 2018. Five Nocturnes received a warm ovation from the capacity audience in the idyllic setting of St Mary’s Church in the presence of the composer.
