Arkansas Razorbacks

Arkansas Razorbacks

The Arkansas Razorbacks, commonly referred to as the Hogs, are the athletic teams that represent the University of Arkansas, which is situated in Fayetteville. In 1910, students at the University voted to change the school's mascot from the Cardinals to the Arkansas Razorbacks. This decision was inspired by a fierce game against LSU, where former coach Hugo Bezdek remarked that the team played with the spirit of "a wild band of Razorback hogs." Notably, the Arkansas Razorbacks hold the distinction of being the only major sports team in the United States with a pig-themed nickname, although the Texas A&M–Kingsville Javelinas compete at the Division II level.
