Ballotpedia is an independent and impartial online resource that serves as a political encyclopedia. It is created by a dedicated team of researchers and writers. Established in 2007, it provides comprehensive information on various aspects of American politics, including federal, state, and local elections, as well as public policy issues. The platform is supported by the Lucy Burns Institute, a nonprofit organization located in Middleton, Wisconsin. By 2014, Ballotpedia had a team of 34 writers and researchers, and by 2018, that number had grown to over 50 editorial staff members.

April 30, 2025: Sixty-four percent (64%) of voters say it should be illegal for members of Congress to buy and sell stocks and bonds while they are in office. A Napolitan News Service national survey conducted by RMG Research found 22% disagree. The survey also found 48% say it should be illegal for members of Congress to own stocks and bonds. Thirty-four percent (34%) do not hold this view.
