Mauritius Q1 2025: Market up 21.5%, Suzuki at record 28.4% share

Suzuki sales are up 37.9% year-on-year over Q1. New vehicle sales in Mauritius shoot up by 21.5% year-on-year over the First Quarter of 2025 to 4,680 units. Suzuki (+37.9%) tightens its grip on the market to a phenomenal 28.4% share, leaving Toyota (+22.6%) in the dust at 12.5% of the market. Kia (+44.6%) rounds out the podium as it did over the Full Year 2024. Nissan (-10.3%) is in difficulty but manages to hold onto the 4th spot overall above Mitsubishi (+31.3%) which passes Mazda (-7.8%) for #5.

This is up 1% on April 2024 when the PSR was 33.2%. Year-to-date, private sales are up 3.1% to 307,574 for a 33.9% PSR vs. 31.8% a year ago. Like last month, the Fiat Duacto is the favourite of private buyers with a 55.2% PSR ratio as camper van building gears up in the lead to summer.
