    Ford Bronco sales are up 51.1% year-on-year in May. The rush to secure a new vehicle ahead of expected price increases in the wake of tariffs has slowed down in May, with sales up just 1.4% on the year prior to an estimated 1,469,000 units. Light trucks are up 4.9% to 1,215,000 and 82.7% share while passenger cars drop -12.8% to 254,000 units and 17.3% share. The SAAR stands at 15.6 million vs. 15.8 million a year ago, 17.2 million in April and 17 million in March.

    The new Acura ADX helps the brand surge in Canada in May. According to estimates by local consultancy Desrosiers Automotive, the Canadian new light vehicle market gains 7.9% year-on-year to 187,000 units, however the year-ago comparison base was relatively low. This could yet again be attributed to a pre-tariff rush, with those being postponed once again and inventory fast depleting.

    Mahindra sales are up 62% year-on-year in May. 45,308 new vehicles found a buyer in South Africa in May, a fantastic +22% year-on-year surge. The year-to-date volume is now up 12.6% 231,719. In contrast exports are off -14.6% to 30,112 for the month and up just +1.4% to 159,199 year-to-date. Brand leader Toyota (+17.5%) trails the market to 22.8% share vs. 24.3% so far this year but Suzuki (+35%) excels at 12.2% share. Suzuki reinforces its newfound 2nd place above the Volkswagen Group (-7.2%).

    The Peugeot Partner is the best-selling vehicles in Chile in May. Third consecutive month in positive for Chilean new light vehicle sales at +4.3% year-on-year in May to 24,337 units. The year-to-date tally is also in positive, just, at +1.2% to 121,347. Chinese brands trail the market slightly to 30.8% share for the month, but China-made vehicles hold 38.7% share so far this year, well above India (10.4%) and Japan (7.8%).

    The Skoda Elroq ranks #12 in Czechia in May. 19,519 new cars hit Czech roads in May, down -1.1% year-on-year. The year-to-date volume is now up 3.7% to 100,431. Local behemoth Skoda (+1.4%) is solid at 33% share, distancing three struggling carmakers: Toyota (-10.6%), Hyundai (-20.6%) and Volkswagen (-5.4%). Kia (+7.8%) and Dacia (+15.6%) are strong below, as are Renault (+40.3%) and Ford (+37%). Mercedes (-2.1%) and BMW (-1.7%) edge down.
