The Nissan Qashqai ranks #2 in Hungary in May. 10,899 new cars found a buyer in Hungary in May, a splendid +14.3% year-on-tear improvement. This means the year-to-date volume after 5 months stands at 54,588 units, up 5.7% over the same period a year ago. Including LCVs the market is up 3.7% to 64,338. Toyota (-10.3%) repeats at #1 in the brands charts with 10.9% share, but remains below Suzuki (+17.5%) in the YTD ranking.

Chery is up to a record 7th place in Indonesia in May. The Indonesian wholesales market endures a painful -14.9% YoY drop in May to 60,613 units, leading to a year-to-date volume down -5.4% to 316,981. Retail sales are off -15% to 61,339 for the month and down -9.1% YTD to 328,852. Toyota (-10.6%) improves its market share to 34.6% vs. 33.4% so far this year, while sister brand Daihatsu (-25.5%) is also above its YTD level at 18.4% vs. 17.4% and this despite a drab YoY evolution.

The VinFast VF 3 holds 8.8% of its home market in May. Data by VAMA and Hyundai shows a Vietnamese new vehicle market up 8.4% year-on-year in May to 33,273 units, leading to a year-to-date tally up 18.3% to 151,041. This month once again we have access to exclusive figures for local carmaker VinFast, leading to a May volume at 44,769 and a YTD tally at 207,228. Local manufacturer VinFast continues to dominate the market head and shoulders with 25.7% share this month vs. 27.1% so far this year.
