Suzuki sales are up 37.9% year-on-year over Q1. New vehicle sales in Mauritius shoot up by 21.5% year-on-year over the First Quarter of 2025 to 4,680 units. Suzuki (+37.9%) tightens its grip on the market to a phenomenal 28.4% share, leaving Toyota (+22.6%) in the dust at 12.5% of the market. Kia (+44.6%) rounds out the podium as it did over the Full Year 2024. Nissan (-10.3%) is in difficulty but manages to hold onto the 4th spot overall above Mitsubishi (+31.3%) which passes Mazda (-7.8%) for #5.

The Volvo XC60 hits a new ranking record in April. Polish new car sales advance 5.8% year-on-year in April to 46,968 units, leading to a year-to-date volume up 3.3% to 189,064. Toyota (-10.9%) easily retains the brands pole position with 15.7% share, albeit down one percentage point on its YTD level of 16.7%. Skoda (-7.2%) is at 10.5% of the market vs. 9.8% YTD and Volkswagen (-1%) just edges down at #3.

The Toyota RAV4 is the most popular vehicle in New Zealand. 8,839 new vehicles found a buyer in New Zealand in April, a -4.3% year-on-year contraction. The year-to-date tally is now down -4.9% to 41,031 units. The Top four brands all fall faster than the market. Toyota is off -8.8% to 24.6% share vs. 23.2% so far this year, Ford sinks -27.5% to climbs one spot on March to #2, overtaking Mitsubishi (-10.9%) with Kia (-7.9%) in tow. Nissan (+2.8%) edges up to stay at #5 ahed of Suzuki (-31.1%).

The MG 5 is back inside the Mexican Top 5. 108,298 new light vehicles hit Mexican roads in April, a -4.6% year-on-year dip. The year-to-date tally remains in positive however at 473,402 units, up 1.4% over the same period in 2024. Nissan (+6.3%) defies the gloomy market and widens the gap with the competition at 17.7% share vs. 12.8% for #2 Chevrolet (-14.9%).

Today we are able to share with you complete sales data for Malaysia in March. 76,515 new cars found a buyer in the country this month, leading to a year-to-date tally of 197,026. Local behemoth Perodua holds 39.8% of its home market, that’s significantly below the 47.4% of last month but still ultra dominant nonetheless. Proton follows at 17.6% ahead of Toyota at 14% and Honda at 12.3%.
