    Almost 200 new homes could be built near the proposed £100m Baltic Triangle Merseyrail station by the company behind Home Bargains. A planning application has been launched for the development of a series of one- and two-bed homes just off St James Street, only 125 yards away from the new station site. Liverpool-based Davos Property Developments has submitted plans for the 13-storey residential-led mixed-use scheme.

Cllr Jeff Green said he was “surprised and disappointed” by former colleagues to split from the authority grouping this week. A warning has been issued to drivers who leave their car without consideration outside sites when picking up or dropping off their child each morning and afternoon. The city council has revealed that in the last 12 months, 94 penalty charge notices have been issued to parents and caregivers who did not follow the rules.

    A lawyer slammed a suggestion by Wirral Council legal officers as “preposterous” as tensions rose during a debate over whether a venue can stay open until the early hours. According to the new Greasby business’ Facebook page, The Little Gem is described as “Greasby’s Hidden Gem” hosting private events, birthdays and celebrations seven days a week. The business opened on 27 April and will be taking bookings from June.
