    Resident doctors in Scotland have accepted a pay deal worth around 11% but say there is still significant work to do to combat years of pay erosion. Almost all resident (formerly junior) doctors (98.2% on a turnout of 61.4%) voted to accept the offer, which comprises an 8.5% rise from April of this year, with a compounding increase of 2.3% from 1 October.

This gathering presents a critical opportunity for decisive and sustainable action commensurate with the urgency and scale of the crisis.   AMR is a natural phenomenon that is driven by the widespread misuse and overuse of antimicrobials in medicine, veterinary practice and agriculture.

    The Cass Review of gender identity services for children and young people has garnered controversy since its publication in April. While welcomed by some, others – including patients, their families, academics, scientists, legal experts, and some members of the British Medical Association – have voiced concerns. In August, the BMA council voted for the BMA to evaluate the Cass Review. More recently, it voted for the BMA to retain a neutral position on the Review until that evaluation has concluded.
