The BMJ is a weekly medical journal that undergoes peer review. It holds the distinction of being one of the oldest general medical journals globally. Initially named the British Medical Journal, it was rebranded to BMJ in 1988 and later to The BMJ in 2014. This journal is published by the BMJ Group, which is fully owned by the British Medical Association. Fiona Godlee has been serving as the editor in chief of The BMJ since February 2005.
