Three trials of treatments for idiopathic or progressive pulmonary fibrosis (PPF) were presented. The ELEVATE study compared deupirfenidone, a deuterated form of pirfenidone, with placebo and pirfenidone in 257 patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF; median age 72 years). 65 patients were assigned deupirfenidone 550 mg, 65 were assigned deupirfenidone 825 mg, 61 were assigned pirfenidone 801 mg, and 65 were assigned placebo, all doses were given three times per day.
