In response to years of feral hogs causing extensive damage to property and agriculture in rural Oklahoma, Sen. Dusty Deevers, R-Elgin, has introduced SB478, known as the Free to Hunt Feral Hogs bill. The proposed legislation aims to eliminate the need for permits to hunt feral hogs, allowing Oklahomans to protect their land, crops and livestock more freely. “Feral hogs are much more than just a nuisance. They are a threat to Oklahoma’s farms, ranches and livelihoods,” Deevers said.
