PLAINVILLE – The Plainville Community Fund is selling spring flowers today at Gnazzo’s to benefit their charitable efforts. Deanna Gelt, a volunteer with the Plainville Community Fund, has been at the grocery store at 73 East St. Thursday and Friday, selling a variety of flowers to benefit the fund. She will be there Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., or until the last of the flowers are sold. “We’ve been getting a lot of great support from the community,” Gelt said.

BRISTOL – The City of Bristol has put out a call for proposals for a property on Eastview Street. The city is accepting proposals for “the disposition of surplus property” at 36 Eastview St. Submissions are due no later than May 7 at 3 p.m.According to city documents, the property is 0.43 acres and is appraised at $55,100. The city recently took ownership of the property after it was foreclosed.

PLYMOUTH - Orphan Grain Train volunteers sent 20,000 pounds of supplies to flooding and hurricane victims in North Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky and Virginia. Steve Ayers, branch manager of Orphan Grain Train’s New England Branch, said the volunteers loaded a 53-foot container full of the supplies on April 14. The local branch of the Orphan Grain Train is based at 33 S. Main St., Terryville.
