The store has been open for over 37 yearsAnother Bensonhurst fixture is saying goodbye. After decades in the neighborhood, Bari Pork Store, 6319 18th Ave., will be closing for good June 30. They are known as “King of the Sausage” and “The last real Salumeria on 18th Avenue,” with its meats and cookies, heroes and other Italian delicacies. Co-owners Tony Turrigiano and George Firrantello made the announcement on their Facebook and Instagram pages.

A group of crooks broke into a home, stole cash and attacked a man, 58, on 21st Avenue and 72nd Street, May 30. At 9:25 a.m., three people broke into the Bensonhurst home through the side door when the resident walked in. Cops said one of the thieves pushed him to the floor and held him down while the other two stole cash, handbags, and jewelry. The individuals fled in two vehicles. The man sustained minor injuries to his head and face and was treated on the scene.

P.S. 413, 280 Senator St., was officially named The Joanne Seminara School of Law & Medicine during a ribbon-cutting ceremony outside the school June 2. Lander challenged Malliotakis to debate the bill with him in Bay Ridge U.S. Rep. Nicole Malliotakis held a press conference in Dyker Heights to discuss President Donald Trump’s “One, Big, Beautiful Bill” and the State and Local Tax (SALT) deduction May 29. She, along with Councilmember David Carr, said the bill is beneficial to the people they represent in Brooklyn and Staten Island. The House passed the bill as the vote was called 215-214 on May 22. It now goes to the Senate.
