    If you’ve ever been tempted to run through a drive-thru, American restaurant chain Smoothie King is making that dream a reality. In celebration of Global Running Day (June 4), America’s largest smoothie brand is going the extra mile (literally), launching a brand-new restaurant concept: the Run-Thru. It’s a window specifically for runners to jog up and order their post-run smoothie on foot. The Run-Thru will be available for June 4 only at a single Smoothie King location in Richardson, Texas.

    On Tuesday morning, one of the world’s fastest female marathoners was handed a 22-month ban by the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) for whereabouts violations. Ethiopia’s Tadu Teshome, a 2:17 marathoner, missed three out-of-competition drug tests within a 12-month period—an automatic anti-doping rule violation under World Athletics regulations. The AIU has banned Tadu Teshome Nare (Ethiopia) for 22 months from 5 February 2025 for Whereabouts Failures.

    Clara Adams of North Salinas High School in Salinas, Calif., crossed the finish line first in the junior girls’ 400m at the Central California State Championships—only to leave the meet empty-handed. After smashing her personal best by almost a full second, the 16-year-old ran over to her coach (who also happens to be her dad), grabbed a fire extinguisher and jokingly sprayed her spikes as if they were on fire. The crowd loved it. Race officials did not.
