Megan Kottemann/Saints On Saturday, April 12, 2025, former New Orleans Saints LB Michael Mauti and his family hosted the 37th annual Rich Mauti Tennis Classic at the Stone Creek Club and Spa in Covington, LA. Michael father, Rich played for the Saints from 1977-1983, and Michael also played in New Orleans from 2015-2017. The annual event raises donations for the Mauti Cancer Fund, which provides mobile cancer screening buses to help the community with early detection.

Just 13 days before the NFL Draft and 3 days before the New Orleans Saints players were due to report for voluntary workouts, news came out that quarterback Derek Carr is dealing with a shoulder injury that may or may not need surgery and could affect his ability for the upcoming season. The timing of this bomb dropped is very interesting since the team’s season has been over since January 5th and they just restructured Carr’s contract in early March.
