    Contract talks aimed at ending a strike at Ontario’s Workplace Safety and Insurance Board appear to be stalled. The strike by 3,600 members of the Ontario Compensation Employees Union is now entering its third week. Working conditions, workload, staffing and wages are among the key issues behind the work stoppage.     Some streets in the north end of Fort Frances will be closed to motorists. Lillie Avenue, York Avenue, Elizabeth Street and Cornwall Avenue will be shut down for short periods of time to allow for road resurfacing.     Trustees with the Rainy River District School Board have approved pay increases for those who serve as chair and vice-chair. They will kick in after next year’s school board elections. The increase is the result of changes to the portion of salaries that are based on enrollment. During a lengthy debate at May’s board meeting, Fort Frances area trustee Mike Walchuk felt that with school boards facing public scrutiny elsewhere in the province, it was not the right time for increases to take place.
