    Seth MacFarlane's Ted is to become an animated TV series. The Family Guy creator will sign voice the foul-mouthed teddy bear, as well as acting as one of the executive producers. Its cast also includes returning stars Mark Wahlberg, Amanda Seyfried, Jessica Barth and  Liz Richman,  plus newcomer Kyle Mooney, formerly of Saturday Night Live. The new show is being made for US streamer  Peacock and is said to be a sequel that picks up after the Ted films.

    Britain’s military forces are being taught stand-up comedy and improv. Serving personnel and veterans are taking part in the 12-week scheme in Plymouth, designed to  ‘build confidence, develop new skills, and experience the therapeutic power of laughter’. Programme Manager Becky Ormrod said: ‘This is a fantastic opportunity to offer a creative outlet for people with a shared background.

    Radio 4’s QI spin-off The Museum Of Curiosity has been cancelled after 17 years. Creator and host John Lloyd said it was a ‘real shame’  that the BBC pulled the plug on the show after 106 episode. In each episode a panel of comedians and experts suggested items to help a comedian curator fill up an imaginary museum.

    The Aberdeen Comedy Festival is returning for the first time in three years. It will comprise 32 events over two weeks with show from the likes of Bridget Christie, Deirdre O'Kane and Rory Bremner Sharon Burgess, chief executive of organisers  Aberdeen Performing Arts, said: ‘Comedy is such a great leveller. It brings people together and is a fantastic chance to shine a light on the talent we have right here in Aberdeen as well as attracting the biggest and best names the genre has to offer.
