The United States Mint produced just over 1.88 billion coins for circulation in the first three months of this year, reflecting an uptick from last year’s first-quarter pace, which marked the slowest start since 2010. In March, U.S. coin production rose to a five-month high, marking the second-highest monthly total over the past year, according to newly released U.S. Mint manufacturing data.

The United States Mint today released sales figures for its numismatic products through the week ending April 13, offering the first results for the second American Innovation dollar of the year and the 26th release overall. Issued on April 8, the Michigan innovation dollar honors Ransom Olds and his groundbreaking assembly line concept. Available in 25-coin rolls and 100-coin bags, the products posted opening sales of 887,225 coins – a solid mid-range start among recent issues.

No new numismatic products were released by the U.S. Mint last week, so collector favorites – proof coins and proof sets – saw the strongest sales gains. They accounted for seven of the eight most purchased products for the week ending April 6. Leading them all was the 2025 Proof Set, up 3,020 to 211,633, building on the prior week’s gain of 1,382. The set still has ground to recover after a 13,918 drop in sales three weeks ago.

The United States Mint released sales figures for its numismatic products through the week ending March 30, providing the first results for the new Juliette Gordon Low quarter. Released on March 25, the Low quarter marks the seventeenth installment in the U.S. Mint’s four-year series honoring the accomplishments of American women. It is the second of five quarters scheduled for release this year. Combined sales of rolls and bags of this latest quarter in the opening days reached 1,818,780 coins.

Last week, the United States Mint introduced its collection of 2025-W Proof American Gold Eagles. The annually issued gold pieces are available in four individual proof sizes, along with a four-coin set that includes all of them. Released on March 20 with prices ranging from $430 to $7,182.50 – which have since been increased, the newest gold issues saw a combined 8,648 coins ordered within four days.
