Corning Incorporated is a global technology firm based in the United States, focusing on specialty glass, ceramics, and associated materials and technologies, mainly in advanced optics for industrial and scientific purposes. Originally called Corning Glass Works, the company rebranded in 1989. In 1998, Corning sold its consumer product division, which included popular items like CorningWare, Visions cookware made from Pyroceram, Corelle tableware, and Pyrex bakeware, to Borden. This division later became Corelle Brands and is now known as Instant Brands.
