Corse Matin

Corse-Matin is a daily newspaper published in the French language, based in Ajaccio, Corsica, France. Originally part of the Lagardère Group through its subsidiary Groupe Hachette, Corse-Matin was sold to Hersant Media Group in August 2007. Currently, it is owned by the Nice-Matin Group. In December 2012, French businessman Bernard Tapie acquired a stake in the newspaper. The paper's headquarters are located in Ajaccio. Corse-Matin has sister publications, including Nice-Matin, Monaco-Matin, and Var-Matin. In 1998, it merged with another local daily from the island, La Corse. Over the years, Corse-Matin has faced violent incidents, including attacks on its headquarters in 1992, 1994, and 1997. Additionally, in May 2011, its office in Bastia was also targeted. As of 2006, Corse-Matin had a circulation of 44,360 copies.
