The Shelby Coyotes opened the divisional tournament in style, defeating the Glasgow Scotties and the Fairview Warriors in three games each, to qualify for the State Tournament in Bozeman this weekend. The Coyotes did not fare as well in the next two matches, falling to Fairfield and then to Chinook. Thursday the Coyotes began the tourney playing Glasgow. Shelby won the first game 25-9, and followed that game with 25-16 and 25-22 wins to advance to the quarterfinals.

The Lady Coyotes began their journey against Conrad and quickly defeated them in three matches, 25-13, 25-17, and 25-6. Penelope Heaton led the attack with 12 kills, and Hadley Clary added nine. Clary and Maya Gorth each added two blocks, while Reese Lee led the team in digs with 18, while Adele Lamb added 10. Addison Richman had a team high 35 assists, Richman, Lamb and Regan Torgerson each had two aces in the game.

The Shelby Coyotes Volleyball Team wrapped up their regular season last Thursday night, defeating the Cut Bank Wolves in three straight games, 25-15, 25-11, and 25-7. Shelby had 40 kills as a team, and Adele Lamb led with 13, and Maya Gorth had 10. Penelope Heaton led the team in blocks with two, and Gorth and Preslee Flesch had one each. Reese Lee had a team high 23 digs, and Lamb added 15. Addison Richman had 38 kills, and two aces, Hadley Clary, and Heaton both also added two aces each.
