    PHOENIX — The Phoenix Mercury let a golden opportunity slip away late in a 74-71 loss to the undefeated Minnesota Lynx on Friday. With the game tied at 71 with 13.1 seconds left, Mercury guard Sami Whitcomb inbounded the ball and her plan was to get it to Satou Sabally; however, Minnesota’s Kayla McBride swiped the ball away and Natisha Hiedeman buried a 3 with 5.1 seconds left to give Minnesota the lead late.
