According to multiple reports, including from ESPN's Adam Schefter, Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders was pulled over early Tuesday morning in Cleveland and cited for going 101 miles per hour in a posted 60 mph zone. Brown was selected in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL draft by the Browns after playing his final two college seasons at the University of Colorado.

If you look at national college football starting quarterback power rankings, you'll often see Illinois Fighting Illini signal caller Luke Altmyer near the top. Among Big Ten QB1s, Altmyer is the highest tier of power rankings. However, if you look at NFL Draft prospect rankings for 2026, you won't often see Altmyer's name. This, despite all that he's accomplished at the collegiate level thus far. Altmyer has another chance this year at Illinois to get his name into the draft prospect conversation.

All 32 NFL teams have wrapped up minicamp and now teams break until training camp starts in around a month. 30 of the 32 first-round picks from the 2025 NFL draft are signed and ready to go with only two holdouts. No. 1 overall picks Travis Hunter has yet to sign with the Jacksonville Jaguars and Shemar Stewart continues his holdout with the Cincinnati Bengals. For Hunter, as the top overall pick, it's just a matter of economics.

There is no denying that the 2026 NFL Draft will be rich in quarterback prospects. How rich depends on how many of the top tier QB prospects forgo some of their remaining NCAA eligibility and declare early. As of now, the elite grouping consists of LSU’s Garrett Nussmeier, Clemson’s Cade Klubnik, South Carolina's LaNorris Sellers Texas’ Arch Manning and Penn State's Drew Allar. Nussmeier has something the other names on that list do not- NFL bloodlines.
