CNN  —  The death toll from US airstrikes on an oil port in western Yemen has risen to at least 74 people, the Huthi-run health ministry reported, marking the deadliest day since the United States escalated its aerial campaign against the Iran-backed group last month. US Central Command said Thursday the strikes on Ras Isa fuel port in Hodeidah province were aimed at cutting off revenue to the Huthis, adding the port has been used as a source of illicit profits to the group.

CNN  —  The bodies of more than a dozen aid workers have been recovered in southern Gaza from what a United Nations agency described as a “mass grave,” a week after they went missing following attacks by Israeli forces. Eight of the 14 bodies recovered Sunday from the site in the southern Rafah area were identified as members of the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS), five as civil defense, and one as a UN agency employee, PRCS said in a statement. One PRCS medic remains missing.

CNN  —  The Trump administration has terminated a majority of its funding for a key Syrian civil and humanitarian organization, the White Helmets, according to internal documents and the organization. The funding from the US Agency for International Development (USAID) for the White Helmets’ firefighting, search and rescue, and community resilience work was terminated as part of the administration’s sweeping cancelation of foreign aid contracts.
