As someone who counts my Dragon Con attendance in decades now, it’s been fun to watch the con evolve and change over time, from the event tracks to the fan “cults” that seem to spawn every year, some lasting longer than others. Some easy (and “free”) pieces of annual memorabilia are your badge and program. We’ve kept most of both of ours (despite best efforts, some seem to have gone to the winds), and some folks wear all of their badges to con every year.

Sunday afternoon as the end of this year’s MomoCon drew near, I was chatting with Darryl McDaniels–better known as DMC–in his booth when a mom approached announcing, “I didn’t think there was anything here for me, and then I saw you!”Over a career now approaching five decades, DMC has gone from learning mixing in his basement to being the voice of the songs of that mom’s childhood to a cookie business–and now another round with “It’s Tricky” in her son’s Sonic-laden childhood.

Let’s talk about Wonder Woman and Diana Prince for a minute. Pretty much every comics geek has asked the same question since the character’s inception: “How is it that no one realizes that she’s just wearing a pair of glasses to hide her identity?”If you think about it, the answer is really about misdirection and privacy. Wonder Woman consistently misdirects people about her true identity, and she never (or rarely) shares information that could be used to link her to her alter ego.
