    Horn will deliver Furnace #2 to a greenfield glass facility in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan. The end fired melting furnace is designed with a melting area of 46 m2. It will have a maximum daily output of 120 tpd. The furnace will be built with three forehearths to produce container glass in the colours flint, amber and green. Horn will be responsible for the associated package of design, engineering and equipment as well as the supervision of the construction works.

    The National Glass Association (NGA) has appointed Lakisha Ann Woods as President and CEO. Ms Woods will take over from 35-year NGA veteran Nicole Harris as of July 14, 2025. Ms Woods is the former EVP/Chief Executive Officer of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) where she grew revenue by 40% and membership to a historic high of over 100,000. She has also served as President & CEO of the National Institute of Building Sciences (NIBS).

    The ZeroCO2-Glass project aims to develop a CO2-neutral melting process for container glass with a new type of melting tank. Project partners include Horn Glass Industries, the International Partners in Glass Research (IPGR), RWTH Aachen and Wiegand-Glas. Horn supplied the equipment for the 2.4 tpd hybrid furnace, the combustion and process control system, as well as the complete construction work for refractory material and steel.

    The Sorg Group has constructed the third furnace for Rubin at its glass plant in Pleven, Bulgaria. The furnace is a gas-fired regenerative endport furnace with Sorg Deep Refiner. The system has a melting area of approximately 92 m² . It is designed to produce soda-lime glass containers in the glass colours flint, amber, and green.
