    TCL’s new QM8K series Mini-LED TVs are now available to buy in the U.S., replacing last year’s flagship model, the TCL QM851G. It’s the U.S. equivalent of Europe’s TCL C8K Mini-LED TV, which has already been launched in the U.K. and elsewhere. The TCL QM8K features the company’s new CrystGlow WHVA Panel with ZeroBorder, which is said to increase the number of local dimming zones by around 35% compared to the QM851G, while boosting peak brightness by an impressive 65%.

    Samsung Electronics has knocked LG Electronics off of its perch in the OLED TV segment in North America, selling more TV sets than its rival for the first time. That’s according to the latest market data from Omdia, which covers the first quarter of this year. The report comes after it was revealed that Samsung shipped more OLED TVs than Neo QLED Mini-LED models for the first time, last year. Omdia’s data highlights the rapid progress Samsung has made in the OLED TV market.

    Gigabyte is set to become the first company to launch a new monitor based on LG Display’s much-vaunted Primary RGB Tandem OLED panel, and Asus will likely not be very far behind it. The two companies have both confirmed plans to launch their first Primary RGB Tandem OLED monitors, with Gigabyte set to do so as soon as July or August, and Asus promising to do the same before the end of the year.

The software will power the Google TV operating system that’s found on high-end models from companies such as Sony, TCL and Hisense. The new features include a new surround sound format in Eclipsa Audio, and the launch of Gemini for TV, which replaces the old Google Assistant.
