    Who will say no in health care? Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield had a rough 2024 financially. In a recent appearance on Talk Business & Politics, President and CEO Curtis Barnett offered some reasons why. The company lost $226.2 million in 2024 after earning $13.2 million in 2023, according to its filing with the Arkansas Insurance Department. It announced it was laying off 75 employees, or 2 percent of its workforce, in January. Barnett said other insurers are also struggling with high costs.

    FAYETTEVILLE — The second day of the NFL Draft saw two Razorbacks come off the board including a surprise first one. All the speculation had been edge Landon Jackson would be the first Razorback drafted. Instead it was wide receiver Isaac TeSlaa taken by the Detroit Lions with the No. 6 pick of Round 3, No. 70-overall pick. Jackson, 6-7, 291, went two picks later to the Buffalo Bills. TeSlaa, 6-4, 218, who is from Hudsonville, Mich., grew up a Detroit Lions fan.

    FAYETTEVILLE — Sam Pittman met with the media Thursday to discuss spring drills just completed the previous week and then also the 10-day portal window that has seen the Hogs land five signatures so far. Pittman saw the spring game and autograph session washed away. He had previously determined if the game got canceled it wouldn’t be made up or moved inside. He was asked Thursday if he feels the team got accomplished what he wanted? “Yeah, I think we got it all accomplished,” Pittman said.
