HER SPORT

HER SPORT

Her Sport is Ireland's sole media platform focused exclusively on women in sports. The platform was created in response to the significant lack of media representation for women's sports. At present, only 6% of sports media coverage highlights female athletes, leading to serious consequences. The absence of visibility means that women athletes miss out on vital sponsorships, fan support, and various opportunities. By the age of 14, girls are leaving sports at double the rate of boys, and this trend is not due to a lack of interest or talent. The limited promotion of women's sports deprives young girls and boys of inspiring role models to look up to.
