PLANS have been approved for the development of 17 new homes at a farming site in Bridgend county borough. They could now lead to the creation of the new residential properties by developers at Marlas Yard and Paddock in Pyle, alongside an active travel route, access, car parking, and landscaping. The approval will see the demolition of a former cow barn and pig shed to make way for housing on the north-western edge of Pyle, immediately south of Marlas Road Lane.

WORKS to a prominent listed Pembrokeshire hotel have been given the go-ahead by national park planners. In an application to Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, Simon Fry, through agent Asbri Planning, sought listed building consent for works to the Grade-II-listed 1-2 Royal Lion Hotel, High Street, Tenby, said to be one of the oldest hotels in the town.

A CALL to extend a Pembrokeshire cemetery to provide a space for eco-friendly natural burials has been refused by county planners. A natural burial is an eco-friendly alternative to traditional burial, burying a body in the ground without a coffin or headstone. In an application to Pembrokeshire County Council, the Trustees of Tabernacle Chapel sought permission for a change of use of agricultural land to extend the existing Tabernacle Cemetery, Fishguard to include a natural burial site.

FORMAL plans to redevelop the grounds of one of the oldest football clubs in Wales – which includes a new 310-seater stand – have been submitted to Ceredigion County Council. Aberystwyth Town Football Club has submitted an application for the redevelopment of its grounds at Park Avenue Stadium, Aberystwyth Football Ground.
