AWARD-winning Welsh Distillery, In the Welsh Wind, has launched a new recipe Black Batch Rum in its Eccentric Spirits range. Available in striking, redesigned bottles, the distillery has worked on a new, improved recipe, which is available at a special introductory price of £24 per bottle. “We’re really excited about the new look and reimagined liquid for Black Batch Rum,” said Ellen Wakelam, In the Welsh Wind Distillery co-founder.

A 30-YEAR-OLD Pembrokeshire man has been sentenced at Swansea Crown Court on Monday, 14 October, for assaulting and strangling a woman during a domestic incident last year. Liam Brian, of Owen Street in Pennar, was found guilty of multiple charges, including assault and coercive behaviour. The offences occurred on Friday, 11 August last year when Brian confronted the victim, accusing her of infidelity after searching her phone.

A WELSH footballer, Joel Collins, 32, has sustained life-changing injuries following a violent attack after a local football match in Cardiff. The incident, which involved several players being assaulted with baseball bats and other weapons, occurred on Saturday afternoon, October 12, at the Eastern Leisure Centre in Llanrumney.

A SOMBRE scene unfolded on a beach in Pensarn, Abergele, where the body of a 58-year-old woman was discovered early Sunday morning, prompting an emergency response near Whitehouse Leisure Park. North Wales Police confirmed the discovery was made just before 8am on October 13. The area was quickly cordoned off as emergency services attended the scene. Despite the tragic circumstances, authorities have stated that the woman’s death is not being treated as suspicious.

Tesco stores in Wales will be the first to stock the recently-launched Blas y Tir Welsh milk. Blas y Tir (Welsh for ‘Taste of the Land’) Welsh milk was launched in July by Pembrokeshire Creamery, the only BRCGS-accredited liquid milk facility in Wales. The creamery is producing 100% Welsh milk for retailers in Wales – milk from Welsh cows, fed on Welsh pasture then processed and bottled in Pembrokeshire.
