It’s been years in the making, but with the cut of a ribbon, Beaverton is almost ready to welcome guests to stay in the city’s first year-round homeless shelter. On Monday, Nov. 18, Beaverton city officials, Washington County and Metro representatives, state legislators and Gov. Tina Kotek gathered to celebrate the completion of the shelter. Located at 11380 S.W. Beaverton Hillsdale Highway, the shelter is expected to open its doors to those in need by January at the latest.
