One can’t live in or commute through Hillsboro without noticing the Walters Cultural Arts Center. With its historic stonework and cathedral wooden arches, the 1940s-constructed building would stand out as a landmark even if it wasn’t also serving as the cornerstone of the city’s arts and entertainment scene. Originally constructed as a Lutheran church, the building on East Main Street has long been a gathering ground for Hillsboroans to engage in celebration and cultural exchange.
