iRun Magazine

iRun Magazine

Running is the most popular recreational and fitness activity in Canada, with over a million Canadians hitting the pavement. People run not just for fitness but also to support meaningful causes. Whether solo or in groups, Canadians participate in countless organized events each year, ranging from casual fun runs to full-fledged marathons, which continue to gain popularity. Until recently, there was no dedicated running magazine for Canadian enthusiasts. Now, iRun fills that gap, offering a distinctly Canadian viewpoint on the sport and activity of running. Published six times a year, iRun aims to educate, inspire, and engage Canadian runners. Backed by Sportstats, the world's leading race timing company, iRun serves as the ultimate celebration of running across various platforms, including mobile, print, social media, and at irun.ca.

Hobbins, the proprietor of Gord’s Running Store, represented the very best of what we love most about the sport: community, connections, and a certain generosity of spirit that we see across the country in our best independent running shops.

The Georgina Spring Fling promotes itself as fast and flat and on the beautiful shores of Lake Simcoe, and having run the Half-Marathon race this year on Sunday, May 4, I discovered first-hand that it indeed ticks all of those boxes. It’s close enough to Toronto that Torontonians can drive up to Georgina the morning of (it took us just over an hour from downtown) and we were blessed with sunny, crisp weather for race day (the temperature was about 5 Celsius when the race started).

This June, Faith Kipyegon is attempting to do something no woman has done before: break the four-minute mile. “I’m a three-time Olympic champion. I’ve achieved World Championship titles. I thought, What else? Why not dream outside the box?” says Kipyegon, a Kenya-native and mother to a young daughter.
