Amazon Web Services (AWS) has advanced its digital sovereignty strategy with the formal launch of a new governance structure for the AWS European Sovereign Cloud, set to go live by the end of 2025. It is moving from a three-desk startup space into a 30-person office unit. This leaves an opening for multiple alternative services providers. The Channel Islands local authority suffered serious IT outages in 2023, that affected benefits payments and a hospital, but its own recent report into ongoing problems admitted a lack of internal management of the Agilisys contract was a big factor.
