Fall 2024 Meditation Thich Nhat Hanh shares with us that "Meditation is not evasion; it is a serene encounter with reality."For the fall 2024 semester, free meditation sessions are available to you in the Muller Chapel on campus, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, between Noon and 12:45 pm, with most sessions lasting half-an-hour. Seat cushions, guided/silent meditation, and a restorative environment are provided to all those who attend.Join us this fall and build a meditation practice into your time here at Ithaca College! Remember ... your mind is a muscle and all muscles need quiet time to strengthen and grow.Join us.

Allison Swenson ’07 shows opera and Omaha her love. Allison Swenson ’07 wants everyone to know that opera is not boring, expensive, or outdated. As a matter of fact, “opera is alive” with “new operas being written all the time.” And yes, there are English subtitles. As general director of Opera Omaha, Swenson is setting the scene for optimum community engagement: “We’re here. We matter. We’re fun.”But she admits she fell asleep during her first opera (Marriage of Figaro) at age 11.
