Journal Pioneer
The Journal Pioneer is a daily newspaper that comes out from Monday to Saturday in Summerside, Prince Edward Island, Canada. It was originally established in 1865 by two individuals, Bernard and Bertram, as a weekly publication known as the Summerside Journal. The paper transitioned to a daily format on September 21, 1939, under the guidance of A.R. Brennan, to keep the public informed about World War II. Following the conclusion of the war, the Journal reduced its frequency to twice a week and then to three times a week in 1949 after it ceased operations of its sister publication, The P.E. Island.
