The founders of Kitchen Stories, Mengting and Verena, first crossed paths while studying business. They bonded over their love for food but had very different cooking backgrounds—one was a skilled hobby chef, while the other was just starting out. Inspired by their unique perspectives on cooking, they relocated to Berlin with a vision. They aimed to create a platform that would revolutionize the cooking experience, leading to the development of the first video-focused, easy-to-use, and aesthetically pleasing cooking app. In early 2014, they introduced Kitchen Stories in Apple's App Store. The heartfelt videos and high-quality, step-by-step images resonated with users, proving that the app's motto, “anyone can cook,” was more than just a catchy phrase. Apple acknowledged the app for its exceptional design, delightful content, and user-friendliness, allowing Kitchen Stories to dominate the food category in over 150 countries. Their journey of success continued with notable accolades, including the Apple App Store's Best of 2015 and the Google Play Design Award in 2016, alongside the growth of their team in a new office located in the lively heart of Berlin. Today, Kitchen Stories is accessible on multiple platforms, offering a diverse selection of beautiful recipes, practical kitchen advice, and insightful food articles. The platform connects food enthusiasts worldwide, making it a brand for everyone and suitable for everyday cooking.
